ROYAL MARSDEN STRIKES GOLD

A veritable feast and auction hosted by ex-footballer, Geoff Thomas, raised £6,000 for The Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea.

Attended by VIP guests from the world of sport, including two Olympic gold medalists in cycling, Jamie Staff and Rebecca Romero, the event boasted a fit, healthy, cycling theme.

Geoff Thomas hosted the fun together with Royal Marsden radiographer, Richard Howard-Jones, who is preparing to enjoy a 1000-mile ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.

Guests at the event enjoyed a relaxed, champagne reception and the lively auction was hosted by professional auctioneer, Jo Cordrey.

The lunch was introduced with an emotional speech by former patient and Managing Director of 4D Design, Pete Allen, who organised the event. He explained his own battle and the fantastic support he receives from the team at the Marsden, “I needed to thank the team at the hospital for making my visits during this difficult time a much less frightening and stressful experience for me and my family; to the point where they were sociable and, dare I say, fun. This is why we are all here today – to give them the support they so richly deserve.”
